Internet giant, ebay inc and an innovative service for non-profits, MissionFish,  can help non-profits raise money using ebay. If you know of any non-profit registered here in the US, Canada and Europe, especially the smaller ones that do not have a lot of funding or clout but are doing good work in Kenya, please refer them to the eBay Giving Works website for more information.Basically, the way it works is that an ebay seller can apportion part of their sales proceeds to a non-profit that supports their cause. If a non-profit registers with this program, they become visible to the whole ebay community and any ebay member can donate part of their ebay sales to them, by selecting the non-profit from a list of non-profits at the end of the transaction.Alternatively, there might be a lot of people willing to donate in kind. You can call for donations through your communities, churches and even schools and list the items using the eBay Giving Works  program. Do not turn away offers especially if it’s a valuable item. Instead, you can quickly turn it into cash this way and have it go directly to your non-profit.The other way it works is that the non-profit can collect your merchandise, list it on ebay and use the proceeds to fund their cause. For further elaboration on how this works, click here.It all seems a little complicated, but ebay help pages are usually quite helpful or you could contact MissionFish directly and have them walk you through the process.
