Tomorrow is Super Tuesday

Twenty four states vote for their delegates tomorrow in the presidential primaries and caucuses in what is referred to as “Super Tuesday” because this is make or break for the race to the presidency here in the US.These delegates will in turn go to their respective party’s convention and nominate a White House candidate for the presidential elections. Before they go, they pledge to vote for the candidate that wins in their respective states. The big prize states tomorrow are California and New York. California will pick 370 delegates for democrats and 170 for Republicans while New York will name 232 delegates for Democrats and 101 for Republicans.So….all the delicate pieces of furniture have been moved aside as we wait for the big day……just in case we need to jump up and punch a “Y-E-S” in the air for Obama and miss a step on the way back down.Down here in Texas we don’t actually get to vote until March 4, but this time around, things are different – it actually means something to be a Texas democrat voter in a presidential primary this time around. If there is no clear front-runner tomorrow, it is predicted that the Clinton-Obama race might be decided here in Texas.Very exciting. We are excited. We (democrats) have never been courted this much. I’m getting at least 5-10 emails a day from the candidates campaigns.Man, we are even seeing the democrats’ ads on TV —- in TEXAS.I know, I know; if you don’t live in Texas, it’s hard to understand this. Texas has never been a battle-ground for democrats and I’ve lived here a long time.
