Mungiki

A few weeks ago, we got intelligence information from within the military in Kenya that Mungiki was up to no good. Basically, what we said was they were being mobilised and “legitimized” (i.e., wearing army and police uniforms and in some cases actually replacing military units) in and around Nakuru and some were being prepared for missions elsewhere. Within minutes of posting that report we were slammed with the email below;

The talks seemed to be going well, the violence had subsided. We wrestled with this because we knew it had come from a credible source, but eventually for the sake of hope and peace, we decided to pull it. We just want to inform our reader that we were not spreading propaganda and all the news about Mungiki in the press and this confession from an insider is our vindication.
