Military base to be established in Mount Elgon area

Two people were killed when the Kenyan army came under fire in the Mount Elgon area. The Kenya army has been locked in a fierce battle with the Sabaot Land Defense Force since March 9.The Western Provincial Commissioner, Abdul Mwasera, told AFP that the soldiers came under gunfire attack from a group of 16 armed people. Two were killed instantly and the remaining 14 were arrested.He said that the government is going to establish a military base in the area to “check on the militias who might crop up after we have finished with operations.”Full Story - via relieweb/AFP
