Changes have been proposed to the E-Verify system. On May 8th 2008, U.S. Rep. Paul Broun introduced a bill in congress, H.R. 6008, also known as “IMPROVES E-Verify Act of 2008”, that will address some loopholes to the system;Here’s a summary of the proposals:- Allowing immediate pre-screening of prospective employees- Allowing the screening of current employees- Providing immunity to employers who legally use the program- Denying protection for businesses that knowingly use this program fraudulently- Changing the Spanish language mandate- Making the program permanentRead the full bill
