Briefs: LG plans cell phone assembly plant in Kenya in ‘09

South Korean electronics giant LG announced today that the company will open a cell phone assembly plant in Kenya in 2009. According to Byung Su Lee, LG’s regional manager, the will spend Kshs 100 million to set up the assembly plant.Two months ago, China’s Huawei Technologies announced plans to expand in the region.
