Hans Joachim Keil, Associate Minister of Commerce, Labor and Industry from the Island nation of Samoa was arrested in Branson, MO for impersonating an American citizen.

Upon his arrival at the port of entry into the United States in Los Angeles on September 6th, Keil presented his US passport, was processed and proceeded on to his final destination, Branson MO. He identified himself as an American citizen to a federal agent in Missouri. The agent discovered that he was not legally a US citizen because his claim to citizenship – his American Samoa mother – did not meet US residency requirements so the application was denied in 1967.

To top it all off – the man is a US Air Force veteran !!

He was released today on a $100,000 bond and the case is pending in Federal court in Missouri.
