Fred Magondu pleads guilty – will serve 10 years

Fred Magondu, the Kenyan nurse in Philadelphia accused of raping a 14-year-old severely disabled boy in April of 2008, admitted yesterday in county court that he raped the teenager. The boy was so severely disabled both mentally and physically and needed needed 24-hour care.
Another care nurse noticed injuries on the boy after she took over care of the boy from Magondu and notified authorities. Investigators focused on Magondu shortly after determining that the boy had been raped. DNA evidence linked Magondu directly to the case.
