European man murders 20 yr old Kenyan girlfriend in Mombasa

Residents of Vescon estate in Mombasa’s Kisauni District woke up to a rude shock today when they discovered a decomposing body of a 20 yr old female in a flat she shared with her European boyfriend.
The incident which drew shock and anger within the area, stunned residents of the peaceful suburb, 8 kilometres north of Mombasa town.
Local Police boss Tom Odero, refused to reveal the identity of the man, but sources intimate that he is of Western European descent.
“Investigations are on-going. The suspect is still in the hospital receiving treatment. We will brief you accordingly later on,” said the Police boss.
Breaking News Kenya was at the scene where at least two hundred curious onlookers had gathered to witness the spectacle, just 800 metres from the Jomo Kenyatta Public Beach.
Speaking to BNK, an eyewitness who did not want to be named recounted the events that led to the discovery of the body.
“Esther (the deceased), had come to my salon last week complaining of being battered by her boyfriend. She was all swollen and had bruises. She was last seen on Friday last week.” The eyewitness then tells BNK of how neighbours got suspicious after the deceased dissapeared from Friday.
“We had a bad smell around the flat on Sunday evening, which worsened on Monday afternoon.”
The neighbours initially thought the smell came from an adjacent butchery whose owner was then ordered to clean it up, to no avail as the smell still pervaded the scene.
Early Tuesday, the smell got worse and flies were seen entering and exiting the window of the deceased’s bedroom.
”It was at this juncture that we decided to break into Esthers flat.”
On entering the house, the European boyfriend of the deceased was found bleeding on the bed in an apparent suicide attempt after he allegedly stabbed himself.
Police then arrived and took the body to the morgue, before taking the suspect to the hospital, where we are reliably informed he is under 24hr guard.
