Twelve contestants, all graduating university students or recent graduates from Kenya, will be chosen by Steers based on their
background and quality of application.

The contest will be held at Tribe Hotel, which was recently
ranked one of the world’s top 100 hottest hotels by Conde Nast. Contestants will be judged based on their ability to solve real business problems in a high pressure environment.

“We feel that it is important to offer this opportunity to young Kenyans, especially in the current economic environment,” says Azam Samanani, Managing Director of Hoggers Limited, which operates
Steers and Debonairs Pizza restaurants throughout Kenya.

“The Kenyan market is becoming increasingly competitive. We need people who are flexible in their mindset, creative and open to viewing the world in innovative ways.”

Candidates will be led through a demanding program which will require them to offer solutions to real marketing problems, testing their creative thinking, business acumen, and communication skills.

“We will force candidates to solve problems independently, and to integrate those solutions in a team framework. We are confident that there are young Kenyans out there who will prove to be exceptional
in these areas,” says Samanani.

The prize will be worth the challenge. Steers will offer the contest winner a full?time position with the company and a 50,000 KSH cash signing bonus.

“Steers is a rapidly expanding franchise which offers the highest quality products and service in the industry,” says Angela Ruto, Sales Manager for Hoggers Limited.

“This is a demanding company to work for and we need the absolute best candidates to help lead this organization into the future.”

Managing Director Samanani believes that contestants who do not win the grand prize will also benefit greatly from the experience. He will personally write a letter of recommendation for qualified contestants who perform well, but do not win the prize.

Contestants will be able to show those letters to future employers and graduate schools.

“We expect to attract the best and the brightest, and just because you don’t win, doesn’t mean you’ll leave empty handed. Even if you don’t join us, this should be only the start of your fantastic career
ahead.”

Both Steers executives and contestants will be available for interviews with the press prior to and during the contest.
