Microfinance with ties to Kenya shuts it’s doors – including Kenya field office

Unitus, a microfinance non-profit headquartered in Seattle Washington, with field offices in Nairobi, Kenya announced yesterdaythat it will be laying off 40 employees and closing it’s Seattle, Bangalore and Nairobi offices.
The non-profit has been in operation for 10 years and was affiliated with Yehu Microfinance Trust, Jamii Bora Trust and several other MFIs in the East African region including Tujijenge Tanzania, based in Dar-es-salaam.
