Anti-hijack system glitch forces Israeli Air Force to intercept Ethiopian Airlines

Two Israeli air force jets were scrambled to intercept an Ethiopian Airlines passenger jet as it approached Israeli airspace when the anti-hijack system the Airline, one of five airlines, is testing with Israeli authorities malfunctioned.

The error was cleared and the airline crew was able to respond with the correct code and was allowed into Israeli airspace and landed at Ben Gurion airport without incident.
